Audrey Hepburn’s former home has been put on the market, for a mere $36.7 million

The actress lived in this heritage-listed residence for the last 30 years of her life.

It’s a far cry from Holly Golightly’s apartment in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but this 18th-century residence outside the Swiss city Lausanne is just as stylish, and maybe a little more luxurious.

The residence, formally the home of late actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn has hit the market, and we love taking a look inside and imagining how she once spent her days. She spent the last 30 years of her life here, raising her children and travelling for her work with UNICEF.

The heritage-listed residence, named La Paisible, is a rarity, even among the great estates throughout Europe. The main building, which was fully renovated by the previous owners in 2001, spans about 1000 square metres across three levels, with two staircases and an elevator.

Terracotta floors, oak parquet and many beautiful fireplaces offer the new owners a simple palette to make their own mark on the property. And there’s plenty to play with, including 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

As seen in the video above, the house is set in a magnificent park with century-old trees, lush gardens and a heated pool for summer swimming.
