A carefully curated selection of BoConcept furniture brings modern style and perfectly complements this Wellington home’s impressive art collection
How bold Scandinavian furniture brought modern style to this heritage home
Behold the bold and beautiful project recently completed by BoConcept’s Cam Dickey, who worked with the Dutch/Kiwi owners of this 1902 character home in Wellington to contemporise its interior. To complement the property’s incredible views of the harbour, add colour and enhance the couple’s collection of abstract and contemporary art, Dickey selected several statement furniture items from the BoConcept range.
Inspired by the skyline of NYC, the low and luxurious Hampton sofa designed by Henrik Pedersen is a modular piece whose configuration can be changed to suit. It also has adjustable backrests that can be altered to maximise comfort. Dickey paired it with the matte white Barcelona coffee table by Moreten Georgsen, a multilevel masterpiece with hidden storage compartments.
Sections of the table can be raised or lowered for a graphic, modern look that also allows the table to be used for different purposes. To bring additional texture and colour to the scene, Henrik Pedersen’s iconic and timeless Imola chair in caramel Oxford leather was arranged in the top corner of this room, overlooking the ocean.
To ensure visual cohesion between the living and dining spaces, Moreten Georgsen’s extendable Granada dining table was introduced in a matte white finish. The couple had fallen in love with BoConcept’s exclusive velvet corduroy Napoli fabric for their Hampton sofa and deemed it to also be the best choice for their Adelaide dining chairs by Henrik Pedersen, for its hard-wearing and colour-fast qualities. Available in seven shades, this fabric is wonderfully tactile and has a subtle sheen that changes with the light.
