While renovating and extending her dream Auckland villa, content creator Skye Ross knew it was the perfect opportunity to customise their new appliances to a lifestyle that puts family and efficiency first, without compromising on style.
Kitchen
“We put a lot of thought into the form and function of our extension and renovation, so selecting appliances that look as beautiful as they are functional was also important,” Skye says. The kitchen is the shining example of how Haier appliances nailed that brief. Here, the priority was to embrace the desire to entertain and spend time together.
“Our choices were centred around our love of being together as a whānau,” says Skye. “The kitchen is the heart of our home so the appliances were chosen with that in mind.”
The two Haier 600 Series Built in Ovens are ideal for entertaining a crowd (or a hungry family). It caters to all cooking needs from air frying to steaming. Skye’s favourite feature? “The rapid preheat function for those evenings when everyone is hungry now.”
Cooking is made simpler with the addition of a Haier Induction Cooktop and Integrated Insert Rangehood. “The Induction Cooktop is a safe option for our young children and is quick to
heat and fast to clean,” Skye says. “And the rangehood is effective and matches our aesthetic.”
The Haier 600 Series Quad Door Refrigerator offers plenty of storage and a range of helpful features. Skye’s particularly fond of the SwitchZone flexibility that lets you change the temperature of the bottom-right compartment between -18°C and +5°C. The refrigerator stores the essentials, and the Haier Beverage Centre offers a little bit of fun.
For every cooking apparatus, there has to be a steady hand keeping things clean. That appears in the form of Haier’s Integrated Dishwasher, which cleverly hides in the cabinetry. You wouldn’t even know it’s there.
According to Skye, the perfect kitchen appliance is “reliable and smarter in its functionality than you knew you needed. There are so many features in our Haier appliances that are incredibly clever. I don’t know how I lived without them before”.
Laundry
We spend more time in the laundry than we realise. Skye was conscious of this when renovating this room, choosing appliances that make that daily task effortless and a little more bearable. When it came to selecting the right appliances for her family’s lifestyle, she had three key priorities in mind: “Reliability, efficiency and good energy ratings.”
The washing machine she decided on is Haier’s 10kg Front Loader Washing Machine, which comes equipped with a whopping 14 cycles. Skye is a fan of the specialised UV sanitiser technology, which can kill up to 99.99 percent of bacteria with a clever ultraviolet light. “It brings me so much peace of mind,” she says.
The other hardworking appliance is the Heat 9kg Pump Dryer. It offers 14 dry cycles to suit almost any preference. One of Skye’s favourite features is its Advanced Anti-Tangling Technology. The reverse tumbling significantly reduces the tangling of clothes and sheets – a total game-changer. “If you know, you know.”
Both appliances are designed to lift the metaphorical load from people’s shoulders, beyond just the multiple cycles. “They’re both energy efficient, which is crucial when you have as many loads of laundry to get through as we do,” Skye says. “I also love the Speed Up functions and how they are Woolmark-certified to take care of our merino delicates in winter.” Skye calls them “the MVP of our household.”
“We’re an on-the-go family with two young children. If we aren’t at the beach, we’re playing in nature, going for walks, or off on adventures outdoors. Our laundry needs to carry the load, quite literally, and having these appliances means it doesn’t feel like a chore to keep on top of the washing.”
