Focus on ceramics
I am having a major ceramics moment – I can’t get enough of them. I love how every piece is unique and can bring an earthy calmness to a home. Chances are, there is probably a ceramics studio near you with wonderful handmade items. If not, have a look at these lovely pieces to bring a spot of character to your home.
Save & splurge: Candleholders
Project your personal style whatever your budget.
Next big thing: Sconces
I have been seeing sconces everywhere recently. Not so much the Victorian candelabra kind, but the design-statement kind. Somewhere between a lamp and a downlight, a sconce can also double as an art piece on a wall.
Learned how to: sit down with a puzzle
It’s been about 25 years since I got stuck into a puzzle and I had forgotten how relaxing they can be. For those of us who appreciate something a little aesthetic, I’ve compiled some puzzles you won’t mind having on the bench when people come to visit.
What I’m loving: anything whimsical
Life can often be rather serious, and given that our home is our little nest away from the outside world, it should have some elements of fun. These are a few items I’ve come across that have made me smile. Don’t you think we need more whimsy in our lives?
