Black Christmas trees are the latest trend and people are confused
Last year it was pineapple Christmas trees and this year it’s black Christmas trees. It seems that traditional green pines just aren’t doing it for people anymore.
The hashtag #blackchristmastree has taken off over the last couple of weeks, with over 10,000 posts on Instagram. Pinterest too is awash with the dark tree trend, calling them the “tuxedo tree”.
But, as Trevor Noah from The Daily Show pointed out; “who needs a black Christmas tree? It looks the same as a green one.”
A “design influencer” told Good Morning America that “green doesn’t cut it anymore” when it comes to decorating for Christmas, citing black Christmas trees are the more stylish alternative.
So, is it the Little Black Dress of the Christmas tree world or does it scream “Nightmare Before Christmas”?
