These four easy DIY projects with floral paper are a fun way to add a stylish statement to your home’s interior without breaking the bank
4 ways to use floral paper to make stylish decor for your home
1. Side table
This is an easy way to give an old or cheap side table a facelift.
+ If desired, give edges and legs a quick coat of paint for a uniform look and leave to dry.
+ Measure the top (and shelf, if it has one) and cut wrapping paper to fit.
+ Stick paper to top and shelf with clear craft glue and let it dry overnight.
+ Then apply a coat of Mod Podge all-in-one matte sealer, glue and finish using a foam brush (this will seal the surfaces and allow you to place hot or cold items on top).
+ Let it dry overnight.
2. Clock
+ Gently remove hands and put somewhere safe.
+ Place clock on chosen wrapping paper (we’ve used a stunning on-trend floral design for these projects).
+ Draw around the clock and cut out.
+ Using clear craft glue, stick paper to clockface and trim edges.
+ Once glue is completely dry, use a foam brush to apply a coat of Mod Podge all-in-one matte sealer, glue and finish.
+ When dry, pop hands back on and hang clock on wall.
3. Wall art
Looking for something new to go on the wall but only have a tiny budget? Simply take a piece of beautiful wrapping paper, pop it in a frame, and voilà! Stunning art for a few dollars.
4. Placemats
+ Take some Kaisercraft placemats and paint them black using a testpot.
+ Once dry, cut out circles from the wrapping paper using a placemat as a template.
+ Glue a paper circle to each mat with clear craft glue then trim edges with scissors.
+ Leave until glue has dried.
+ Then, using a foam brush, apply a coat of Mod Podge all-in-one matte sealer, glue and finish to the paper to protect the placemats from water damage.
+ Leave to dry overnight before using.
