Wicker is actually a weaving method used to make baskets and furniture. It’s one of the oldest recorded ways of making furniture that dates back to 3000BC in Egypt. Traditionally, willow, rattan, reed and bamboo have been used in wicker work. More recently, synthetics such as PVC have been utilised for outdoor furniture.
