The new Breville InFizz Fusion can carbonate juice, tea, wine, water and more

Carbonated drinks are about to get a whole lot more exciting thanks to the Breville InFizz Fusion

The Breville InFizz Fusion can impressively carbonate juice, tea, wine and flat soda

What new kitchen appliance are we reviewing?

After a refreshing carbonated drink? Today we’re reviewing the latest soda maker to hit the market: the Breville InFizz Fusion.

Purchase the Infizz Fusion for $349.99, from Breville (SHOP HERE) or $259.27 (usually $312.59), from Amazon (SHOP HERE).

What does the Breville InFizz Fusion do?

The appliance is a soda and sparkling water maker, but for all liquids, so you can turn certain drinks into fizzy versions of themselves.

The Breville InFizz fusion is simple to use – fill the bottle to the line indicated, do the cap up and use the easy twist and lock system to secure it. Press down on the lever and wait for the gentle pfff of carbonation.

Even better, there’s no mess involved – the drinks carbonator features a magnetic stainless steel drip tray that can be wiped down in a jiffy.

What is so special about the Breville InFizz Fusion compared to other sparkling drink appliances, such as the SodaStream?

What makes the Breville InFizz Fusion different from a SodaStream sparkling water maker or a drinks carbonator is the addition of the FusionCap. It gives control over the release of the CO2 – fast or slow depending on the type of drink you’re making.

Friday drinks got interesting when we used the Breville InFizz Fusion to turn our humble bottle of rosé into sparkling rosé

Is this drinks carbonator worth it?

You can use the Breville appliance to fizz up your juice, tea and cocktails thanks to the FusionCap. Pass us the best glasses and drinks pitcher, stat!

Flat prosecco? Run it through the InFizz. Our Friday drinks got interesting when we turned our humble bottle of rosé into sparkling rosé (sorry, we couldn’t make it do water into sparkling wine).

Not all other sparkling water makers can do this as it can lead to a possible explosion and damage to the machine.

Are there any downsides to the Breville InFizz Fusion, and is it complicated to use?

Being completely incompetent with machinery, even of the most basic kind, I struggled to secure it until I cottoned onto the fact that the red lever needed to go far left. Then, it became a walk in the park.

For those that are digitally savvy, use the BILT app on your smartphone to view interactive product setup instructions and instruction booklet. You can also visualise how the Breville InFizz Fusion drinks maker will look on your kitchen countertop using Breville’s augmented reality app.

Does the Breville InFizz Fusion come in different colours? And what’s included in the box?

The Breville InFizz Fusion is available in brushed stainless steel, black truffle or white sea salt. It comes with the Fusion Cap, a 1L bottle with a stainless steel cap and base, a cleaning brush, a funnel and a sieve.

Separately, you need a standard SodaStream 60L gas canister, which is easy to purchase and refill at your local supermarket or department store.
