Welcome to the cosiest season of them all. This winter, we’re seeing a distinctive palette emerge — think earthy neutrals and rich chocolate tones, with hints of green and blue. Perfect for loving all winter long.

We turned to Your Home and Garden editor Fiona Hawtin for her top picks from Farmers to make your space deliciously welcoming all winter long. Why go outside?

Upholstered in a soft, textured fabric that adds warmth and tactility, this sofa’s wraparound arms and low profile bring a relaxed elegance to any space.

“I love the shape of this sofa. Its relaxed silhouette is a showstopper. The plan is to spend as many rainy days indoors as possible this winter,” says Fiona. Here we’ve paired it with a set of the LUCA Furniture Tulum tables, which feature a smooth powder-coated metal base with a travertine-look ceramic top.

“The interesting sizes and shapes make these perfect for moving around the room. I’d definitely get both.”

“I could sink into this comfy swivel armchair for hours. Imagine curling up with a good book and a warm blanket, with no interruptions. Utter bliss,” says Fiona.

With a 100% cotton shell and feather inner, we firmly believe more is more when it comes to cushions this winter.

“The question of how many cushions is the appropriate amount always pops up this time of year. The selection of colourways and fabrics has me wondering whether more cushions than couch is acceptable,” says Fiona.

“I love that this duvet is a 55% linen and 45% cotton blend. It’s light and breathable enough to use all year round, yet cosy enough for layering in winter. The rich brown tone is the perfect winter hue: equal parts comforting and luxurious,” says Fiona.

Little touches

“Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean florals can’t have a moment. The ruffled texture of these Tilly Home Marie vases is a beautiful interpretation of the trend,” says Fiona.

The Home Fusion Lightwave candle and diffuser are stunning vessels for an addictive winter scent featuring pink pepper, muguet (lily of the valley), caramel, vanilla, cedarwood and amber. The five-wick candle is a total winner in my book, and a great gift too — the vessels can be repurposed as a bedside vase and catch-all tray.
