Nicola and Hayley got their Halloween craft on with the smart Cricut Maker 3, creating bat wall decor to add some spook to their homes. Here, they’re carefully peeling the vinyl off the backing paper.

Is the Cricut Maker 3 worth it?

Without a doubt. It’s a machine the whole family can make use of – everything from making T-shirt transfers for the kids’ soccer team to creating stylish labels for an organised pantry. We used the machine ahead of our Halloween celebrations and we found we could add a bit of flair into a kids’ room, or at the very least frightening them with a cauldron of bat wall decals. Maybe it’ll be enough to spook them into picking up their dirty socks?

Are there any downsides to the Cricut Maker 3?

Other than the expense of setting yourself up with the machine and accessories, you will have the ongoing cost of materials. Also, the canvas size is limited to the width of the machine.

Pro tip: When transferring a large vinyl decal to the wall, make sure to use vinyl transfer tape. Trust us, it’s a game-changer.

Is the Cricut Maker 3 good for beginners?

No design experience is required with the Cricut Maker 3. It took us some time to get our heads around the initial setup (downloading the Cricut Design Space app and uploading our bat designs), but after a few hiccups, we nailed it!

Tip: Watch a YouTube tutorial or two, but try not to get sucked into the cat video abyss.
