How do I use the Ninja Slushi?

Assembly is a breeze. The slushie maker has four main parts:

  • The base unit
  • The churner (also called an “auger”) that mixes ingredients
  • The insulated vessel for holding your drinks
  • A two-part drip tray to catch spills

Setting up the slushie machine

Before use, the base unit must sit for two hours to allow the refrigerant to settle.

Once ready, pour in your ingredients, select a preset, and the machine takes care of the rest.

Built-in presets:

The machine offers five presets, each with a specific starting temperature:

  1. Slush
  2. Frozen Cocktail
  3. Frappé
  4. Milkshake
  5. Frozen Juice

Want your drink thicker and colder? Press the snowflake control panel’s top arrow to increase the chill factor. For a smoother texture, do the opposite.

When your drink hits the right temperature, the machine beeps. Even better, it keeps your drink perfectly chilled for up to 12 hours!

Bonus features:

  • Mess-Free Serving: A built-in self-serve handle and no-drip spout make pouring easy.
  • Flexible Drink Size: The machine has a 475ml minimum capacity and a maximum of 2.6 litres, which is enough for 2–9 drinks.
  • Top-ups: Ingredients can be added during a cycle to keep your drinks topped up, but depending on the quantities, you may need to run another preset cycle

How long does it take the Ninja Slushi to work?

Depending on your chosen drink, the process takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

How do I freeze drinks with sugar or alcohol?

If you’re making alcohol-based drinks in your Ninja Slushi, ensure they contain between 2.8% and 16% alcohol for proper freezing.

For sweetened drinks, add at least 5g of sugar per 100ml.

The smart technology can detect if there’s too much alcohol or not enough sugar and warns you if your mixture needs adjusting.

Can I make sugar-free drinks in the Ninja Slushi?

Yes! If you’re a fan of frozen diet cola or low-sugar drinks, add a sugar substitute to help freezing. Popular options include monk fruit sweetener, allulose or erythritol.

What’s the difference between the Ninja Slushi and the Ninja Creami?

Both create frozen treats, but they serve different needs:

  • Ninja Slushi: Perfect for icy drinks like frozen cocktails, frappés, and slushies.
  • Ninja Creami: Ideal for homemade ice cream, transforming frozen-meal-like bases into creamy desserts (shop here).

Is the Ninja Slushi worth it?

This slushie machine is endlessly fun. It’s perfect for cocktail parties, casual drinks, and even kid’s birthday celebrations. We love how simple it is to use, with no blending required and the versatility to create so many different drinks. For keen entertainers, this gadget is a game changer.
