Modern love

DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
A bit eclectic; sometimes classic, sometimes edgy, hopefully chic and hopefully appropriate for the occasion.

HOW HAS THAT TRANSLATED TO YOUR BEDROOM?
The original pieces of furniture I have chosen are a mix of classic and modern. The raw linen curtains give a grounded look, not just ‘glam’.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR DESIGN INSPIRATION?
Melissa! I also grew up with interior designers – my mother and sister – so I guess it is an innate part of who I am. My mother has always been very clever with colour and texture in her interiors and fashion, and my mother-in-law is also very clever with her interior design. It’s not unheard of for us all to have a glass of wine and totally change around an entire room just for fun. All these ladies are a massive inspiration to me. I also love the websites 1stdibs.com and modaoperandi.com for unique pieces and inspiration.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR BEDROOM?
It sounds like a cliché but it really is a haven, just a simple, cosy space.

WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR LINEN, SOFT FURNISHINGS AND FRAGRANCE ETC?
Melissa imported the linens and fabrics through Atelier Textiles and the soft furnishing have been custom-made or stumbled upon over the years. I collect fragrances on my travels because it’s a great way to remember a certain place or an entire trip.

DESCRIBE YOUR BEDROOM STYLE IN THREE WORDS?
Fresh, cosy, light.

WHAT IS ALWAYS ON YOUR BEDSIDE TABLE?
Illumina soy candles, Diptyque room spray, hand cream, and a notepad and pen.
