It might be a stretch to call the laundry the heart of the home, but any busy household knows it’s essential. Perhaps the laundry is the liver, working away at cleaning and filtering and occasionally overloading after a big weekend.
For rugby legend Liam Messam, his wife Monique, and his sons Jai, 15, and Bodie, nine, the laundry has to work just as hard as they do. Sports gear, school uniforms, wet togs from the pool – it piles up fast.

Damp laundry can be passed directly into the dryer, while the washer’s push-to-open detergent dispenser and doors are designed for easy access, even with full hands.
Despite a few reno hiccups, the laundry was finished just in time for winter. “It’s made a huge difference for our household – mainly the heat pump dryer,” says Liam. “It’s been a game-changer with the wet weather we’ve been having.”
And when life gets busy, a little smart help goes a long way. The SmartHQ app can start or stop cycles remotely and sends a ping when the washing is done. “The best thing is it keeps you on task with chores that slip through the cracks,” says Liam. “That notification means there’s no excuse to forget.”
