How to make this fabric banner

Cut linen fabric into a rectangle 38cm by 60cm.

Measure 40cm down each long side of the fabric and mark with a pencil. Measure the middle of the fabric at the bottom and mark with a pencil. Draw two lines from the outer marks to the centre mark to form the point of your banner and cut out.

Fold over the top of the fabric by about 2.5cm and sew across (or hand stitch). This will form the sleeve for your dowel, so check that the dowel can fit through before you sew.

Type a message on your computer in capitals using Arial font in Bold, at 250 point size. Print out and then cut out each letter.

Place a paper letter on the wrong side (back) of the leather, turning the letter over so it is back to front. Draw around the letter in pen and cut out. Repeat with remaining letters. Glue leather letters, right side up, to the front of the banner to form your slogan and leave to dry.

Tie cord around one end of dowel and thread the 4 wooden beads onto it.

Thread dowel through the banner and tie the end of the cord to the other end of the dowel.

Move the beads so you have two on each side of the cord. You are now ready to hang your banner.
