Low-maintenance flooring on your list this summer? We look at some of the latest trends and surfaces from Carpet Court
From our carpeted catwalk to the surface of our stage, Carpet Court floor was a luxe backdrop to Simply You’s Colour My Life as creative director Marcel Gull shared the hottest trends with our audience and gave advice on how to select the ultimate flooring for your home. Although everyone loves quality carpeting, when it comes to updating your interiors for summer, Carpet Court has plenty of hard surfaces on offer as well, some with herringbone finishes – one of our favourite flooring effects.
1. Herringbone
The new Rhino EverCore Herringbone dark parquet flooring from Carpet Court is extremely popular in Europe and has finally made its way to New Zealand. At once on-trend and timeless, it brings chic texture to all sorts of spaces.
2. Teak
First appearing on our television screens on hit show The Block NZ, the famous Malmo Exquisit Nostalgie Teak flooring by Carpet Court featured throughout the apartment of winning couple Lisa Ridout-Gordon and Christopher Gordon (Ribz). Its neutral tone worked particularly well with the intensely coloured walls and dynamic décor the couple chose for their open-plan kitchen and dining space.
3. Wooden finish
Wood-finish flooring is robust and resilient, making it ideal for busy living spaces that face a lot of wear and tear.
3. Dark tones
Spotted on the runway at Colour My Life, Rhino Rhode Island in Mammoth Mountain carpet provided a sophisticated anchor for our fashion show. Dark tones are transeasonal, providing a low-key hint of drama year-round.
The feel of high-quality carpet underfoot is an everyday pleasure that can’t be underestimated.
4. Light touch
Pale and interesting with a pervading sense of softness, Rhino Phoenix carpet in powder-blue Raintree can really open up a room.
