Bell + Co is a design-oriented practice located in Auckland, founded by director Andrea Bell in 2013. She’s previously worked as a Senior Associate for Bossley Architects, where she had worked since graduating with honours in 1999. Andrea’s commitment to creating unique and innovative designs has seen her win a number of awards, and she is also a teacher at the Unitec School of Architecture.

An example of their phenomenal work is her HOME of the year finalist family home designed for her family. It’s not located in suburbia but in a semi-industrial area on the city fringe. It’s a brand new building which has slotted itself very discreetly into the street, but the real surprise comes when you open the door. A beautiful spacious living areas open up onto a generous terrace, and a big back lawn. This clever home combines elegant proportions and generous living spaces with tough industrial materials like concrete and steel.
