The monochrome look continues to be popular, and for good reason. Crisp white cupboards offset by black and stainless-steel appliances make a powerful statement, particularly in a contemporary setting. Selecting an on-trend grey marbled splashback and light-coloured flooring makes the room sing.
Farmhouse kitchens have a timeless appeal and what better way to complement them than with wrought-iron furniture and fittings? Wooden tables and benchtops are instantly inviting and in this large kitchen they are offset with a white tiled wall and painted ceiling. The overall look is contemporary, with an industrial edge.
Be bold with colour and pattern. Strong hues can be tricky but a textured surface will soften the effect. Shiny, metallic, larger-than-life cupboard handles and a striking metal pendant light add drama. Patterned flooring matches the cupboard colour and keeps everything in check. The blond wood table and marble splashback draw the eye to softer elements in the room.
