Broadcaster and TV presenter Toni Street welcomed her little baby, Lachie, into the world in August. In the final weeks leading up to his birth, Street was in full baby-prep mode; a wardrobe of adorable blue suits was organised, the stylish nappy bag packed and a sweet, calming nursery came together – the last minute addition of an ombre cot, the finishing flourish.

“I look at Lachie and get these ‘wow’ moments over how lucky we are,” the broadcaster told Woman’s Day. “I just can’t believe we got our son! He really is the son I thought we’d never ever have.” Lachie was conceived via surrogate, Street’s best friend Sophie Braggins generously carried him for them.

Street has shared images of little Lachie’s nursery on her Instagram, and we can confirm, it’s as cute as the tot himself. The sweet space has a calming blue-grey wall colour, accented perfectly by dark blue floor-to-ceiling curtains. On the wall, a smattering of white star decals and three prints featuring a baby fox, a baby white tiger and a baby raccoon.

But the pièce de résistance of the Insta-worthy nursery is the custom-made cot by Kiwi company L’adorabelle. Founded by Chaz Reid, L’adorabelle’s aim is to create the world’s most covetable cots. Reid, who has a passion for designing kids room discovered the need for contemporary kids furniture during her styling days. She now makes cots that are both pleasing to the adult eye and encourage a child’s imagination.

She wants to show that colour can be sophisticated. The one questions she asks her clients is: “If you could describe your child in colours, which ones would you choose?”

Street chose an ombre of blues and greys. The colours speaking to the other hues in the room and the warm wood frame picking up the warm tones in the little fox print. Altogether it’s a space both parents and child would be happy to be in.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the cute nursery theme was carried through in the ‘welcome home’ celebrations. A cake featuring the baby fox, the baby white tiger and the baby racoon, ice blocks in the colours of the room and little white stars over everything.
