From his favourite Danish Furniture dining table to dark chocolate, these are furniture aficionado Drew Copestake’s five necessities
Drew Copestake’s Tauranga home is a blend between the rustic charm of a frontier homestead and the sleek simplicity of Danish minimalism.
This design ethos has fuelled Drew’s passion for high-quality, sustainable pieces that he shares with fellow Kiwis through his store, Danish Furniture. A curated selection of Danish Furniture’s wares, including products by renowned furniture brands Skovby and Houe, are available for purchase through Shop Your Home and Garden.
To get to know Drew a little better, we asked him to tell us the five things he currently can’t live without.
Houe Falk indoor dining armchair, from Shop Your Home and Garden
The Falk chair is superbly comfortable with a high flexible back. The seat shell is made from household plastic waste and is a great story of upcycling and is very stylish and sculptural.
2. Fire Dragon Chillies Bhuty dark chocolate bar
This dark chocolate has a chilli kick. Harnessing the fiery properties of bhut jolokia (ghost pepper), it’s a fantastic addition to cooking or grated over desserts.
3. Houe Leaf outdoor dining table, from Shop Your Home and Garden
The Leaf table is a beautiful outdoor piece. The great thing about it is you can see and hear everyone seated at the table, which you can’t do with a rectangular design. It’s unique as it’s clearly created to look like a leaf and can comfortably seat six to nine guests.
4. Lapin + Wolf Astronaut photography art print, from Shop Your Home and Garden
I love this iconic photo from the moon landing. To me, it typifies mankind’s creativeness and spirit of exploration. It’s just a pity we’ve not gone further into the stars.
5. Bernier SolarCareB3 cream, from Life Pharmacy
My go-to moisturiser, it feels amazing. It’s lightweight yet nourishing and has certainly improved the feel of my skin.
