Create a bold statement and discover how to experiment with pattern and texture with our guide to black and white bathroom style
Ideas for your bathroom: Create a timeless statement with Black and White
Sticking to a black and white palette gives you the freedom to mix patterns and tones. Here we have used black, grey and white towels sporting a range of designs, textures and edgings.
Layer it up.
To make a pattern or design stand out even more, place a plain-coloured mat or rug underneath as we have done here.
Make it Matte.
Matte finishes are popular and are readily available in bathroom accessories and tapware. A matte piece will add a modern, upscale look and an effective finishing touch, especially in black. Here we have featured a matte black towel rack, tumbler, laundry hamper and mirror along with a matte white pendant light.
Make your accessories pop.
If you have a mainly white base – white tiles and walls, for instance – add more black pieces. If your base is darker, use more white. When setting up your bathroom, spread tones throughout the space, rather than clustering too many black things or white things together.
