Take a tour of Gwyneth Paltrow’s California guesthouse

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Montecito home is a place to nourish the body, mind and soul

With a passion for all things wellness, it’s no wonder that Goop founder and CEO Gwyneth Paltrow’s Montecito hill abode imbues a sense of relaxation. From plush wicker daybeds to a crystalline indoor pool, the home is a sanctuary for respite and mental clarity. Paltrow shares the Californian guesthouse with her writer-producer husband, Brad Falchuk and her children, Apple and Moses.

Designed in collaboration with architecture and design duo Robin Standefer and Stephen Alsech of Roman and Williams, the duo previously provided their talents to Gwyneth Paltrow’s glam apartment in New York’s Tribeca.

The Californian guesthouse features a storybook-inspired exterior with elements of both traditional and contemporary design. It takes on a farm-style tranquillity with layers of ivy bordering the al fresco dining area.

Inside, the Montecito home is neutral in colour and grounded in materiality, with an all-white kitchen, a luxurious marble-covered bathroom, and a suite of cosy, shearling armchairs that allow brass and golden accents throughout the home to pop.

In August, the actress-turned-CEO listed the guesthouse on Airbnb, offering an exclusive one night stay for a guest to immerse themselves in her home and nourish their mind, body and soul. The experience included a guided transcendental meditation session to empower the mind, a relaxing day spa incorporating Paltrow’s beauty essentials, a nourishing meal to refuel the body, and an abundance of Goop wellness products to continue the luxuriating journey long after the stay.
