Morag Sinclair started Gerty Brown by creating cushions from recycled fabrics and coffee sacking and selling them in Wellington stores. Now, she works full time designing and creating cushions and homewares, which she sells online and in retail stores throughout New Zealand.

Since starting, Morag has been involved in designing products for a resort in Vanuatu, a yoga retreat in Bali and a designer in Switzerland. She loves mixing patterns, colours and textiles to create something bursting with personality. “I don’t like wastage,” says Morag. So she stores all her scraps because she knows she’ll eventually find a use for them.
