Whether you’re looking for inspiration for a moody nursery, a whimsical child’s room or a blue teenager’s retreat, The Block NZ teams delivered. Here’s where to shop the looks from week 2
Stacy and Adam
Team purple went for a fun and whimsical kids bedroom this week on The Block NZ. Channelling their inner seven-year-old, they went all out with their subtle cosmic wallpaper and paired it with a colour palette of soft pastels of pink, blue and green.

The judges’ loved that it was cute with a reasonable level of sophistication, which was achieved through their considered use of white details to balance out the colour.
To re-create their look, you’ll need a pretty canopy draped with fairy lights, as many cushions, ottomans and throws as you can find, and a cute little fabric swan head for above the bed.
Sophia and Mikaere
Team blue chose to create a sophisticated nursery for kid’s bedroom week and although they didn’t win over Jason Bonham and Lizzi Whaley with their elegant room, the judges couldn’t deny the styling was on point.

Sophia and Mikaere have created a nursery that’s sweet and playful, but can also be easily turned into a guest bedroom, which was their endgame for their apartment on The Block NZ.
To re-create their moody, stylish room, work within a colour palette of dark blue-grey and moody sage with pops of terracotta orange and contrasts of white. Balance out cute kid’s decor with more mature details to create a room that will age well.
Lisa and Ribz
This week, Lisa and Ribz chose to create a teenage boy’s bedroom. Their styling was simple and modern, they went with a blue-grey colour scheme and added interest with two colourful pop-art prints.

Even though their minimal approach didn’t overly impress the judges, who thought they could’ve used some of the colours in the prints for inspiration, it was nevertheless a tidy, well-put-together room.
To re-create their style choose a textured blue wallpaper for the walls and keep bedding simple with a grey or charcoal duvet. Add a monochrome rug, two colourful prints and timber shelves and you’ve got the look.
Ethan and Sam
There wasn’t much to love or take inspiration from Ethan and Sam’s kid’s room this week. In fact, the judges could only find one commendable object in the room; their fire engine bookends.

If you want to re-create this look, although we don’t recommend it, take the best bits from the room. The cactus wallpaper is fun and engaging, use it on a couple of walls in your kid’s room and pair it with a complementary paint colour.
The dark grey quilt covers are a functional piece of bedding for a kids room, but make it fun by adding colourful pillows and patterned throws (that don’t clash with your wallpaper).
