The coffee table and art deco chairs (upholstered in a Catherine Martin  floral design) are both by La Galeria of Ecuador. The Kintamani Drum Table is by David Ross. The vintage Turkish rug was overdyed in emperor purple.

Norling  found an antique loo table in Christchurch and had it refurbished with a gleaming walnut burr. The chandelier is Murano. The piano is a family heirloom.

A painting by Mahiriki Tangaroa, a Rarotongan artist, hangs above a geometric Grillon Chair by Industria. The linen curtain is by Christian Fischbacher.

Gavin Hurley portrait takes pride of place at the end of the passage in the guest wing.

A painting by Amanda Gruenwald hangs above the original fireplace. The scatter cushions in luxurious fabrics are a combination of Zinc and Catherine Martin. The oriental-inspired drinks cabinet was designed by James Salmond.

Norling stands in front of a painting by Russell J Winterburn, the lamps are by Penta Italia.

White subway tiles and butler sinks bring the art deco style into the butler’s kitchen.

The kitchen island was made by Robyn Labb Kitchens and the bar stools are by Black Dog Furniture in Cambridge. The lights are by Brucs Española.

The main kitchen opens onto the garden.

The engraved mirror and cabinet in the entrance are by Arte Veneziana. The chinoiserie wallpaper is by GP & J Baker.

Norling created a sense of depth with layered linen, silk velvet, and cottons in a guest room.

Norling fell in love with the Hollywood regency style of the black lacquered bookshelves in the hallway.

The classic 1920s Eileen Gray side tables hold original antique art deco lamps.

The scatter cushions on the window seat are covered in Christian Fischbacher fabric.

The bone side table was hand-crafted in India for Globewest.

The outdoor chair is by Dedon.
