Urban communities in Auckland you need to know about

Article by Homes to Love

With ANZ, HOME New Zealand is exploring the ways we live now, under the theme of ‘Urban Communities’ – and how this trend allows us to live and build today.

Whether it’s in a home or part of a city, living these days is social and communal. For urbanites, as well as being able to achieve a spacious and light-filled kitchen, dining and outdoor area at home, they have different living spaces; the café, the gardens and the shops of their own urban precinct. Without being completely separated from the hustle and bustle of the city, these areas are like a home away from home. Take a look at these three precincts that do urban living well, and the places they go to eat, shop or play…

CENTRAL CITY:
Live: Union Green

CITY WORKS DEPOT:
Offices, restaurants and communal areas are brought together by the sheds of the CityWorks Depot building. Enjoy lunch and try some craft beer while you’re there, or have a weekend pamper session.

PONSONBY/GREY LYNN:

WYNYARD QUARTER:
Live: Wynyard Central

WYNYARD QUARTER:
Pick a sunny day to have a casual lunch, wander along North Wharf and sit by the water with an after lunch treat.
