This week, The Block NZ teams had to tackle a master bedroom, ensuite AND walk-in-wardrobe. But it was all worth it for the biggest prize in Block history

The Block NZ teams battle it out to win the biggest room reveal prize ever

Double the rooms meant double the prize money and double the drama this week on The Block NZ. Master bedroom and ensuite week was full on from start to finish with the teams racing (some not so successfully) against the clock.

With so much at stake, the gloves were off and we saw the contestants get sneaky and strategic as they tried to stop room reveal champions Amy and Stu from winning yet again. Even Claire and Agni’s efforts to trip up Amy and Stu by giving them a My Little Pony fabric for their ‘Give and Take’ challenge was to no avail. Amy and Stu pulled off yet another stunning bedroom by swapping out their signature colourful style for fresh white walls and pared-back accessories.

Chlo and Em also nailed their Morrocan themed master bedroom this week with striking a charcoal colour, bold headboard and a luxurious mix of materials. The judges loved the look and their generous scores saw the Palmy besties neck and neck with Amy and Stu on the scoreboard.

Just as Amy and Stu have a track record for winning the room reveals, Ben and Tom have unfortunately formed a habit of not completing theirs. The boys were scored a 2 by Jason for their unfinished space, who went on to describe their room as “cold and lifeless.” Claire and Agni had the opposite problem with their over-zealous styling getting the better of them again.

In the final dash to the finish line, the game playing continued and it all got quite confusing.  Chlo and Em traded a ‘plus one’ from Ben and Tom, Amy and Stu used their ‘minus one’ and the possible fate of the next room reveal winner now lies in the hands of Claire and Agni’s ‘undo card’. Despite all the complicated tactics, one thing is for certain: this $12,000 room reveal prize is going to make a huge difference to the winning team.
