Stacy and Adam had a slow start to The Block NZ. Scoring apartment number 1, the old firehouse, its high ceilings and generous floor space caught them off guard in guest bedroom week.

But, after finding their feet in week one, they went on to win kid’s bedroom, apartment five, living room, entrance and the outdoor room reveal, just one win off breaking The Block NZ record set by Amy and Stu last year.

The judges loved Stacy and Adam’s bold styling. They haven’t held back with colour or pattern; channelling a monochromatic scheme with playful pops of oranges and reds. They’ve also tried to incorporate the old firehouse wherever they can; with framed architectural prints from the original building, bespoke artwork made from fire hoses and photos of the firehouse when it was first built.

Unlike the other Block apartments, Stacy and Adam’s apartment is set over two storeys and is the only one inside the original firehouse. Because of this, they have no outdoor area, but instead a winter garden, which functions as a conservatory-type outdoor room.
