Hailing from Wellington caterer Lisa (Ngai Tahu), 37, and print technician Chris, AKA Ribz (Ngati Kahungungu), 34, pride themselves on their ability to stay fun.

The husband-wife duo have been honing their DIY skills for 10 years, renovating and decorating their own house. Ribz, the self-described builder, says his strengths lie in his DIY skills, whilst Lisa excels on the shopping and decorating front.

Honest, fun and not afraid to speak their minds, team yellow is serious about the competition.

Lisa and Ribz chose to create a teenage boy’s bedroom in week two. Their styling was simple and modern, they went with a blue-grey colour scheme and added interest with two colourful pop-art prints.

Unfortuntely, their minimal approach didn’t overly impress the judges, who thought they could’ve used some of the colours in the prints for inspiration.

Room score: 8/20 (Jason: 4, Lizzi:4)
Total spend: $12, 297

This week on The Block NZ, Lisa set out to create a New York-loft-boutique-hotel style.  She went with bubble-gum pink walls, pink bedding with navy blue accents, a black and white print and one mustard coloured throw. She was happy with the end result but the judges were less than impressed.

Room score: 9.5/20 (Jason: 5, Lizzi:4.5)
Total spend: $11,252
