Wooden micro shelters dotted along Denmark’s coastline

Article by Homes to Love

Danish architecture firm Lumo Arkitekter has designed a series of tiny shelters installed along the coastline aimed at encouraging outdoor tourism

These basic, but downright charming, cabins designed by Lumo Arkitekter are part of a series of 50 shelters offering campers, trampers and surfers respite from the elements.

Built as part of the Shelters by the Sea Project aimed at encouraging outdoor activities in Denmark’s South Fyn Archipelago region, these cabins are inspired by traditional shelters used by fisherman to store their catch.

There are five shelter designs, with a maximum floorsize of 25 square metres. The ‘Monkfish’ hut has three floors with a bird-watching platform.
