Tommy Hilfiger’s New York penthouse apartment

Article by Homes to Love

Tommy Hilfiger is putting his palatial penthouse apartment on the market. Step into this iconic New York building and see where US$69million can take you.

The details

Address: Plaza Hotel, 5th Avenue, New York
Size: 5,600 square-feet
Bedrooms: Four
Asking Price: US$69million (NZ$97 million)

It comes as no surprise that Tommy Hilfiger, the self-confessed lover of American icons, would own this spectacular penthouse. With views across central park, located in the Plaza Hotel, and on 5th avenue, this apartment is as quintessentially New York as you can get.

However, the designer behind the namesake fashion empire is putting his palatial penthouse apartment on the market and has even cut the price by US$21 million.  For a cool US$69million (NZ$97 million) you can be the proud owner of this luxe 5,600 square-foot duplex.

Boasting four bedrooms, a spiral staircase, wet bar, terrace, library and walk-in closets, this apartment is nothing short of impressive.

Back in 2008 Hilfiger and his wife bought two separate units across the two top floors of the Plaza. He liked the idea of living in an iconic building where you can still receive the services of a hotel. Three years and a staggering US$25 million in renovations later, a home of opulence and old world charm was completed.

This isn’t the first time Hilfiger has listed the apartment; he attempted to sell it for US$80 million in 2014 and US$75 million in 2015. While the market for a US$58 million must be smaller than most, we can’t for the life of us, think why this hasn’t been snapped up already!
