1. Printed tea towels

These printed tea towels by Crushes are a great souvenir of Aotearoa to post overseas as a gift or to use at home. Taken on 35mm film and printed in full colour, this image of Karekare Falls (and another of Queenstown) would look great framed or as a simple wall hanging. breadandbutterletter.co.nz

2. Fringed cushions

One homeware trend we’re seeing filtering into the market is fringed accessories and soft furnishings. This retro edging is making its soft way round all sorts of objects, from ottomans and cushions to throws and blankets. If you like the look, try these Citta fringed cushions, $69 each from Paperplanestore.com.

3. Handmade ceramics

We’re fans of local pottery studio JS Ceramics and are always excited when these clever makers produce new designs. The new Arches range is a collection of tableware and decorative objects in a beautiful pink and navy design that has just the right balance of colour and pattern. And to add to the covetable list are plates, wall planters and mugs in the dreamy new Blue Splatter and Blue Wave designs. Pieces start at $30 from jsceramics.nz.

4. Jungle print bedding

This striking new duvet cover set from Wallace Cotton is inspired by the beautiful island of Antigua in the West Indies. Detailed images of the island’s lush tropical foliage have been digitally printed onto 250-thread-count organic cotton and capture all the mystery and exoticism of Antigua’s jungle environment. With its black-and-white colour palette, this duvet set would look great with a pop of added colour for an instant bedroom update. See the full Antigua range in Wallace Cotton stores nationwide. Queen duvet cover sets are priced at $199.90 and euro pillowcases at $39.90. wallacecotton.com
