Olivia Day – Digital Producer

If you’re a lover of kiwi interior design then you’ve probably heard of statement maker Evie Kemp. The creative’s home is pure rainbow magic. Filled with quirky op-shop finds, bright wallpapers and eclectic furnishings, the interior space is bursting at the seams with personality.

Her ‘gram is exciting to follow as she’s constantly switching it up. Unlike your average furniture re-arrangement and cushion swap-out, Evie will do a 100%, top to bottom makeover. She’s always showcasing a new mural that she’s painted or a piece of furniture she’s reupholstered. It’s forever inspiring and you won’t be able to choose which iteration you love most (although R.I.P to the retro ribbon mural in the living room.. gosh that was a great phase.) Evie is the ultimate queen of gallery walls, wallpaper, textiles, houseplants.. the list goes on.

I love how she encourages her followers to lose their fear when it comes to decorating and to let your personality shine. I’m so here for her positive do-you vibes, next time I consider adding something to my cart I will try my hardest to apply the WWED (what would Evie do) mantra!

If you’ve ever come across LA-based Danielle Nagel’s art on her business account, @dazey_la, you could get a fair idea of what her home would look like. Luckily for any curious Instagram scrollers, she’s got a whole account dedicated to her interior design work – and it’s as aesthetically colour-popping as you could have dreamed.

Bright and bold without being in your face and eccentric without being off-putting, @dazeyden is the perfect inspiration for anyone looking to add a bit of colour to their life – especially those who might be feeling hesitant or intimidated. Centred on vibrant furniture, colourful artwork and a few vividly decorative wallpapers, every shot in her feed is enough to make you forget any attachment you had to monochromatic interiors and go all in on the colour front – pastels, plants and patterned cushions essential.

If you haven’t heard of artist and designer @JustinaBlakeney before you’re in for a treat. I first stumbled across Justina’s brand @TheJungalow a couple of years ago and was instantly hooked. Justina lives and breathes creativity designing everything from paintings and tiles to ceramics and rugs. Her bold, bohemian style is all about colour, texture and lots and lots of plants. Some people even say the style blog she started in 2009 was the catalyst for the indoor plant obsession that continues to rage on today.

The ethos for Justina’s Jungalow brand is all about bringing good vibes into your home and that’s exactly what I get from her when I scroll through my feed. Her grid is a fun mix of colourful travels pics, snippets of her interior style, and a sprinkling of sassy selfies. She’s a daily dose of fearlessness you can thank me for later.

If I could wear colour like illustrator, curator and style queen @kellythompsoncreative… She’s a master of firey hues and bold and tonal colour pairings. She’ll show you how to wear a silk yellow dress with a chunky yellow knit. Or pull off a flared green pant with a bright green vest and a white balloon-sleeved blouse.

She’s got great interior style and has a keen eye for op-shop steals (she picked her up incredible velvet mustard curtains from a second-hand store – what a find!). She’s a keen gardener, is constantly supporting other creatives, is climate-conscious and, in my opinion, well worth a follow.

Travelling around the world, you’re bound to discover sites which look like a Wes Anderson film. With the perfect combination of colours, symmetry and simplicity, @accidentallywesanderson has curated real-life scenes that echo the director’s distinctive style. As an interior design and architecture lover, I immediately hit the ‘follow’ button on Instagram when I discovered this account a few years ago.

The feed sparks my inner creativity as each post boasts colour and composition, encouraging me to pick out the perfect pastel hue and redecorate, or just flick through Netflix to re-watch The Grand Budapest Hotel. The account receives submissions from design enthusiasts all over, sharing historical information on the subject, so the account also acts as a travel guide for anyone looking to reenact scenes from their favourite film.
