The utterly charming Hampton’s house was snapped up in less than 30 days.
She’s basically walking sunshine, so we’d expect nothing less than a sprawling lavender-covered estate for Drew Barrymore. The talk show host and long-time actor who shot to fame as a child star in the 1980s has found a buyer for her heavenly Hamptons home less than 30 days after listing it for sale.
The asking price was a cool $14m (or $US8.45m) to purchase her seven-bedroom, six-bathroom holiday haven next to the ocean. It’s set on 1.7 acres in the affluent village of Sagaponack. The area is a go-to for the New York elite, so it’s no wonder it wasn’t available for long. Drew paid $8.99m ($US5.5m) for the house in 2019, so she’s turned a tidy profit. Let’s take a look around…
Inside Drew Barrymore’s Hamptons home
Formerly a 1920s barn, it’s been renovated to exude all of the original character with contemporary comforts.
The seven-bedroom, six-bathroom renovated abode features a guest house, home theatre, and a dazzling outdoor pool for your summertime rest and relaxation. Imagine the evening soirees.
Originally built in 1920, the residence captures indoor-outdoor flow with tall windows and French doors opening out to numerous surrounding decks and patios. A separate guest house (which has likely played host to the actresses’s many celebrity co-stars) includes a bedroom, bathroom, living space and office.
In true Drew Barrymore style (she has her own line of kitchenware) the farmhouse-style kitchen features butcher block countertops, milky white cabinetry and tiled floors, giving us plenty of inspiration for our own Hampton’s inspired space. The kitchen partly opens to the adjacent living room, with two glass doors offering the opportunity to open up, or divide, the two spaces.
In case that isn’t enough, the park-like grounds have been planted with specimen trees and flowering gardens for you to wander after a dip in the pool.
