Colour palette inspiration: How to style emerald and brass like a designer
This month I dreamed up a romantic dinner setting for two and, as always, found inspiration in nature when it came to conceptualising the space and choosing colours. With a moody, intimate dining scene in mind, I wanted something to centre it so I asked our friends from Mark Antonia (who are at the top of the floral arrangement game) to create a hero floral arrangement.
Using my beloved Dulux ‘Mt Messenger’ (a dreamy, complex green) as the colour reference, I found these amazing velvet dining chairs and complemented them with highlights of gold and muted yellow for the styling. By grounding the look with a rich walnut oak floorboard I soon had a beautiful dining space which just needed to be drawn together with a striking central feature and some simple styling.
I went to Mark Antonia with my moodboard and colours and Antonia created the most beautiful floral arrangement to breathe life into the space. It highlights the golden tones and, by spreading out across the wall, is elevated to the status of art.
I absolutely love how this room has come together; the rich colours are a match made in heaven and the floral arrangement has once again demonstrated that nature is our greatest artist.
