The former New York home of David Bowie is selling for $8.5 million and the listing includes his personal piano!
David Bowie’s former New York home is on the market
Prestige property usually comes with special inclusions, whether it’s a waterslide, cinema screen or car turntable, but this Central Park apartment has something truly unique: David Bowie’s pristine Yamaha piano.
The British glam-rock icon and his wife, Iman, lived in the 175-square-metre property for a decade, before selling in 2002. For some unknown reason his piano remained, and the instrument has been included in each subsequent sale of the home.
The rare piece of rock n’ roll history has been rolled into the $8.5 million price-tag. A gracious limestone entry foyer, generously proportioned rooms, and large picture windows with direct views of Central Park are also included the listing, which is held by the Corcoran Group.
Potential buyers will no doubt also be attracted to residing in the city’s landmark Essex House. The building includes a hotel so they will have access to a maid, room service and a fitness centre.
