These stylish Kiwi Instagrammers are delivering all the #interiorinspo
1. Cowshed488
You might be familiar with Georgina Skinner through her eponymous photographic business, Print by George, or maybe you know her through her travelling caravan homeware store Gigi Goods & Co. Now onto her third business venture, Georgina and her partner (soon to be husband) Steve have created a luxury boutique Airbnb on their West Coast dairy farm, and it delivers on all the interior inspiration.
If you have a passion for chic, shaker-style interiors with a modern twist, (where else will you see a beautiful country-style kitchen, a blue neon welcome sign and a bathroom wallpapered with a bold banana leaf print work so harmoniously together?), this is an account you need to follow.
2. Hall We Need
Get prepared to be swept off your feet. Twice. Because this account has interiors you can only dream of and the sweetest baby you ever did see. Hall We Need is the brainchild of Jess Britten and Warren Durling, who bought a run-down historic hall and have been gradually making it their home. Six-months ago Hall We Need’s Instagram feed was full of images of the hall’s renovation progress and their incredibly slick interior style.
Now little Stevie is in the picture (literally) and the interior snaps have made way for sweet baby photos. Not that we’re complaining though, cute baby photos and interior inspo shots? That’s the dream.
They’ve got some great ideas for how to make a big space feel cosy – the hall is essentially one big room after all.
3. Erena Te Paa
Purveyors of mid-century design will fall in love with Erena Te Paa’s Instagram account. Her Hamilton home is filled with soothing colours, impeccable design and beautiful curves, all of which seem effortless.
She pairs mid-century pieces with second-hand finds and it has resulted in an incredibly unique space, which of course is shared in generous detail on her feed. Whether you simply want to admire her work or take inspiration for your own place, this is an Instagram that’s worth a follow.
4. Clever Poppy
Julie Stuart of Clever Poppy describes herself as a “mama, maker, weaver and content creator”. Simply put, her feed is a delight. It’s #interiorinspo in a whole extra way, not only will you be inspired by her cute-as-a-button kids’ room and her #shelfie goals, but her DIY projects will also inspire you to get creating.
She’s done everything from rainbow weaves, headboards, flower crowns, wreaths and shelves. It’s both aesthetically pleasing if you’re someone who likes to do a deep scroll, and a welcome addition to the every day feed.
5. The Home Duo
This one is for the reno-junkies. Young Olympic duo Sophie Cocks and Jamie Prebble are embarking on their first renovation journey and documenting it on their feed. It’s clear these two have passion and talent in spades, for not only do they have their interior style nailed, but they’re doing most of the work themselves.
If a satisfying before and after is what really toots your horn, then you’re in luck. As they complete each room, Sophie and Jamie post before and after pics to show their progress. It’s a great way to show what can be done with a space and will provide you with all the inspiration if you’re looking to start a renovation.
6. The Goods We Found
Op-shopper extraordinaire Charlotte Burt of The Goods We Found is a must follow for second-hand and vintages lovers. She regularly posts op-shop finds and that she sells herself or on behalf of someone else.
But in addition to sharing her incredible finds, she also posts photos of her own vintage-adorned home and other accounts that inspire her. Give her a follow and you’ll immediately become an op-shop addict and want to adopt her cool, easy-going style.
7. Moochstyle
Another first-reno account that delivers all the inspo you might be looking for. Plus a cute dog. Shayden and Georgia have spent the last four years renovating, re-decorating and sharing these updates on their feed. Their latest projects include painting their porch charcoal black, creating a basket gallery-hang above their bed and getting stuck into some landscaping.
In addition to beautiful images and inspo picks on their feed, their story highlights also provide great insight and inspiration into their progress on specific areas. You’ll find tips and advice on how they choose items and ideas for the garden, curtains, the reno and flooring there.
8. Justine van Kekem
Recognise this house? Your Home & Garden just featured Justine van Kekem’s home in their latest issue, and let us tell you, her Instagram is filled with all the interior inspiration you might expect after seeing her magazine spread.
Justine’s style is contemporary Scandinavian meets industrial chic. There’s plenty to be inspired by; from their stylish white and black bathroom to cool kids’ rooms to chic vingettes and dried-flower styling.
9. Blair and Becs Build
On Blair and Rebecca McDonald’s Instagram bio is; “Loves a project, needs a coffee”, this is something we can relate to. Here is another clever couple who have had their home featured in Your Home & Garden. But their Instagram is another outlet of inspiration altogether.
They’re seasoned renovators and their feed shows it. They document the progress of each of their reno projects, as well as delightful little insights into their family life. If you’re interested in seeing what it takes to do up a caravan, a townhouse or a villa, give them a follow, they seem to tackle every type of project.
10. Pearson + Projects
These guys need no introduction; former The Block NZ winners Alice and Caleb Pearson. Well, no surprises here but they’re still renovating. Follow their feed to follow their journey around the country as they renovate house by house.
Their latest project saw them complete a reno in Alexandra. You can also watch their Reno Recap to see the full transformation of each house through their IGTV channel.
