Irving Smith Architects

Irving Smith Architects are a niche architectural practice based in Nelson. With an ongoing commitment to producing innovative, sustainable and research-based responses they have been recognised both nationally and internationally, including winning the World Building of the Year and World Villa of the year at the 2017 World Architecture Festival in Berlin.

After a family home was badly damaged in the Christchurch earthquake architect Jeremy Smiths’ ‘House with Villa Silhouette’  is an elegant take on how to begin again without extinguishing the past.

Their skill set is not limited to the residential sphere, and the practice has also been involved in Masterplanning, and Tertiary design – having worked on the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology campus.
