Eterno Interiors

Award-winning interior designer Melissa Greenough has an eye. Having worked in New York for many years, she has accumulated vast experience in high-end interior design, having worked with clients such as Martha Stewart and Conde Nast. After returning to New Zealand she has since started Eterno Interiors.

Greenough’s style is described as being “contemporary classic with a twist” and she loves to create multi-dimensional designs, with a particular focus on creating layers. Designing a home is an extremely personal process, and she aims to tell the story of an individual’s life in her work attempting to “always add that interest and depth to a room”.

She loves to incorporate natural fibres into rooms, being particularly fond of linen and silk. To ensure she creates the best result for clients she doesn’t limit her interior purchasing to New Zealand, often seeking inspiration in foreign lands.  Greenough’s drastic turn-around of family friend Gretchen Reid’s Auckland home, which Reid had described as “horrendous” previous to the renovation, is telling of Greenough’s exception creative abilities.
